Second trip to Polam Factory >> Mission: invigilaition of abandoned Polam factory
Date: 1 - 9 - 2007 our team: Mike (urban exploration), Szczepan Location: Warsaw, karolkowa street Descriptions: Factory of electric lamp has been set up by PHILIPS in 1922. Plant has started his activity at Karolkowa street . First machines have been fetched from holland. Company has been expanded since 1923 - new buildings emerged, assortment became also richest. Durung the second war german ingeeners were building here radio stations for submarines. In 1946 after war production of lamp was reasume. In 1991 after privatization and bad managenent plant become fall down. There was a lot of plans of remaking plant on bank center, however, measurements have exerted oversized concentrating of mercury. From this moment building is abandoned. Today it is old monument of polish industry where time has stopped. Different chemical reagents are still placed in laboratories full of old documents. Photos |
